FAFSA fills students’ banks with financial aid

FAIRHOPE, Ala.–FAFSA’s financial aid helps students pursue their dreams in college. Standing for “Free Application for Federal Student Aid,” FAFSA is an application that students can fill out to get “grants, loans, and scholarships” for free. It is important for students to do it because it determines their eligibility for financial aid, which is definitely a requirement for future college plans.
“[The benefit of FAFSA is] the funds that students can get. Colleges often ask for [students’] FAFSA to see if they are eligible for financial aid. So, it is incredibly helpful for students and worth their time to do it,” said Treavie Ainsworth, senior counselor of Fairhope High School.
Ainsworth advised that one way for Fairhope students to get help with filling out the form is FAFSA night on October 4. FAFSA night will be “a workshop of sorts,” that will help parents and students complete the form. The staff from the Coastal Alabama Community College financial aid office will come to talk to the students and offer their help with filling out the information.
“Ms. Grant, our career coach, and I have been in the classroom to explain the importance of the application. In addition to its financial benefits, it is also a requirement for graduation,” Ainsworth said.
To be eligible for financial aid through FAFSA, students must fill out the form with their and their parent’s social security numbers, their driver’s license, any current investment records, their alien registration card, their parent’s federal tax return, the student’s federal tax return, and their untaxed income records and other records of money earned.
Fill out the form today here for financial aid and financial gain.
