The Fairhope High School Theatre Department is finishing up its final touches to the 2021 performance of A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen. The performances will be held in the Black Box on the following dates:

  • February 26th at 7:00 PM
  • February 27th at 7:00 PM
  • February 28th at 2:30 PM

Tickets are currently available online via school fee payment systems. Currently, priority tickets are given to cast members’ families. If there are any spare tickets, students are allowed to attend! Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for FHS students and children under 12. The seating is currently limited to only 25% capacity.

Hannah Rogers, FHS Drama Club Director, explains how this play was an “absolute delight.” Due to the small cast of only 7 people, the show was much easier to handle. “But even with so few people,” Rogers says “we’re still doing a show with a runtime of about 3 hours. That’s a lot more lines for everyone to memorize.” Due to COVID-19 regulations, the practices was moderately hindered. “So much of a performance relies on facial expressions,” Rogers states “One of our biggest hindrances was having to rehearse with face masks, which blocked almost all facial expressions from coming through. Now we have clear face shields, so that has made rehearsals much easier on that front.”

There was lots of doubt in August when the play was officially announced, but now it has come to light! The FHS Theatre Department has put in hours of work. Let’s cheer them on with a standing ovation!
