New horizons… A young attendee scans the area for the best booths to shop at during the 2024 Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival on May 4. Even though the weather prevented flight during the scheduled times of 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., attendees still enjoyed and participated in the festivities. “I think people come from all over the country because they’re interested in the balloons and because the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce always puts on a really good festival,” said Frank Frazier, OWA Director of Facilities Maintenance.

Opening up… Thursday, April 25, Fairhope High School held a signing day. Students who are taking their sport to the next level are signed a letter of intent to their college of choice. This marked a huge point for not only the individual athlete, but for the school. Assistant Principal Josh Howell started signing day with a speech praising the hard work and dedication of the athletes. He emphasized the integrity of these driven individuals.

Putting for the par… Sophomore Lawson Baldwin chips the golf ball onto the hole two green. She finished the hole with a putt which secured a par. “I feel that by focusing more on my back swing I have changed the trajectory of my swing and have fixed my club face to prevent me from slicing the ball,” Baldwin said.
