Looping benefits education

Where friendship and education intertwine

The Looping Process is an important method of education and should be applied to more schools. Students transition through 28 to 32 teachers just throughout their high school experience. This constant change affects the growth of a student’s education and detracts from the connections teachers and students make with each other.

I have had good and bad experiences with teachers, and sometimes wish I could have had the same teacher during my schooling. Looping makes this possible and is vital to many schools as it is a great way for teachers and students to stick together through one’s educational experience.

Looping is an educational practice that allows teachers to educate the same group of students over years of schooling. This process creates a bond between teachers, students and even parents as it is a more comfortable environment for everyone.

Contributor to Educational Research, Karen Rassmussen, said looping is beneficial and provides more time between teachers and students, a valuable curriculum and meets the needs of every student.

According to Rassmussen, “Looping results in positive school culture through fewer transitions and increased trust in relationships with students and parents.”

This type of environment is exactly what many children need to break out of their comfort zone. For students, it is hard to participate in a place where they feel judged. A comfortable setting will encourage students to participate and grow in their learning.

Not only is looping effective for student learning, but it also has a great impact on relationships between classmates. Looping is built on community and because a student grows with these classmates, it often creates a lifelong friendship.

“Looping is only as effective as the implementation, the support of the parents and administration, and the effectiveness of the teacher,” said Jim Grant, The executive director of the Society For Development Education.

Administrators should implement looping to benefit education. This process has shown successful test scores and functioning classrooms that assist in making everyone’s education more relaxing,

Looping is a way for teachers and students to grow academically as a team. Having a good relationship with teachers and classmates is important as it is essential to a student’s educational path. If a student feels uncomfortable within their school environment, looping is a great method to make a student’s education more secure and enjoyable.
