FAIRHOPE, Ala. (May 15, 2024) – The Mobile Bay Maker’s Market will be held on May 19, at the Fairhope Pier from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., allowing vendors to sell their products in a way different from galleries and stores.
The market only allows products that are grown or made locally, such as greens or art. The Maker’s Market forms a community of sellers from around the Gulf Coast who offer different goods, including fresh produce, local foods & beverages, flowers, live plants, fine arts & crafts, baked goods, natural products, soaps, candles, home goods and herbs.
The market is seeking new vendors. Vendor applications are available at https://mobilebaymakersmarket.mymarket.org/forms/signup. “I originally joined because the price of selling was cheaper and appealed more to me,” said Lucretia Little, watercolor artist and vendor. “After I began to sell at the market, I realized how much I like visiting with the other vendors and patrons.”
The Market will offer a variety of different products for patrons to buy, including microgreens, the microform of a plant grown. “They’re [microgreens] really nutritious for you and are only six to ten days old when we sell them,” said Katie Perry, vendor. “We harvest them and people use them in many different ways. You can throw them on top of a meal, eat them whole or replant them.“
The market occurs every two weeks. More market dates include June 2, 16 and 30. Information on the market can be found at Mobile Bay Maker’s Market. Email market manager Amanda Webb at [email protected].
Locals and visitors should attend the market to support local businesses and form new connections within the community. The market location boasts a beautiful background for shopping like no other. Come visit and support local artisans today!
