Fairhope students celebrate homecoming, senior night

Showing spirit… The FHS junior varsity cheerleaders toss cups and beads to the crowd. Children ran to grab the goodies and yelled goodbye to the cheerleaders as they passed. (Riley Wootten)
Pirates in wonderland… The Homecoming float displays the wonderland theme for this year’s dance. Rock Gearhart, homecoming king, launched candies toward the onlookers. (Riley Wootten)

SGA represents… Sophomore SGA float throws out footballs as they ride down to the bay. They designed their float with blue tassels and fish for an underwater theme. (Riley Wootten)
Pirate pride… The junior class float portrays W.C. Majors Field. This design was inspired by the senior night football game on October 25. “It was so much fun designing the float and seeing people in our grade outside of SGA come together to ride in the parade,” said Ella Shedd, junior SGA representative. Pirate traditions… Cheerleaders excite the crowd with enthusiastic routines. This performance developed a nostalgic feeling and brought back the tradition despite weather issues prior to homecoming. (Riley Wootten)
Final Friday night lights… Football players support their team and wear jerseys in honor of senior players’ last game. The slogan “Go Pirates” was seen on many floats and uplifted the audience and students for the upcoming game. (Riley Wootten)
Recognizing seniors… Cheerleader coach Pamela Brewer brings senior cheerleaders to the front for recognition. Later, senior football players and the homecoming court stepped forward in recognition. (Riley Wootten)
Closing celebration… The bonfire lights up the night and brings everyone together to sing the alma mater chant. Varsity and JV cheerleaders performed a final routine to end the celebration. (Riley Wootten)
