Girls soccer drops home game versus neighboring rival

Protecting the goal… The Lady Pirates defend the goal post and push the ball away from McGill-Toolen’s scoring side. The team kicked the ball away from pressure and back to Fairhope’s defense. (Riley Wootten)
Open space… Torres drives the ball down open space looking for a free pass. She passed to Junior Mary Marshall Roberts who charged through McGill-Toolen’s defense. The game remained in a zero tie throughout the first half. (Riley Wootten)

Hustling for the win… Roberts breaks away from pressure and sets herself up for a shot at goal. McGill- Toolen’s goalie stopped her shot. “This game was not the outcome we had hoped for but overall we communicated well, worked together as a team and determined what we need to improve in the next game,” Roberts said.
