COOKED TO PERFECTION… The seasoned charr-grilled salmon feast does not disappoint. To top it off, the juicy lemon adds a more refreshing taste.

Taziki’s offers customers welcoming taste

If someone is looking for affordable fast and good Mediterranean food Takikis is just the place! The menu offers more than enough options and is family friendly.

When deciding where I wanted to eat dinner, I knew I would end up at Taziki’s. I called my dad to meet me there, and we walked in around 7 p.m. on Thursday. The staff immediately greeted us by saying “Welcome in” all smiling.

The walls are filled with beautiful paintings, light fixtures and peaceful background music. I would say the vibes were immaculate. Not only did they have many inside seating options, but also a back patio with plenty of tables and chairs.

I am a very plain eater, so finding food I truly love can be a challenge, but Taziki’s has yet to fail. I chose the Salmon feast, which comes with grilled salmon, and a choice of two sides. The seasoned char-grilled blackened salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. To add to this taste, I also squeezed a lemon on top.

WIDE VARIETY… The menu leaves customers wanting it all. Taziki’s really does have something for everyone. (Hannah Cate Miller)

For my two sides I choose rice every time, double of course. I love rice, so good rice is important to me. Taziki’s rice is some of the best around, a Greek lemon rice, with added cilantro, and cooked to perfection. Out of the many times I have been to Taziki’s, the rice has never been dry, or undercooked, and it is always full of flavor. My dad ordered the salmon feast as well, but with potatoes instead of rice. The potatoes were delicious, salty and soft making the first bite heaven.

Taziki’s offers many different options on the menu, including salads and gyros and more. Takik’s also offers catering for events or large gatherings.

Although Taziki’s isn’t like a typical restaurant where a server comes to the table, it is still fast and efficient. Customers walk up to the order line and wait to order food. From all of my experiences of going to Taziki’s, ordering has never been more than about a 10-minute wait. When I walked up to order, I was kindly greeted by a worker who asked me for my order and gave me a number to put on our table. Despite the fact there was not much interaction with the servers, the cooks worked hard and our food was out in less than 15 minutes. One thing I did notice was the man who took our order was wearing personal wireless earbuds, which sometimes can seem like a distraction, or disrespectful, but in this case, there was not a problem, and he heard every word I said.

Eating out these days has gone up to unreasonable prices, but Taziki’s has stayed at a very reasonable price range for a nice Sunday lunch spot or once-a-week treat. Overall, the menu ranges from about $20 to $25. The salmon feast was $19, without a drink which is $3.30 extra. Compared to many other places that serve salmon, $20 isn’t too bad for a good salmon. Considering the portion sizes are more than enough, I definitely got my money’s worth.

Taziki’s is worth the time and money, and I would recommend trying it out. I love Taziki’s welcoming and calm atmosphere, and even better, the food. I give Taziki’s 5/5 stars and I already can’t wait to go back!
