Volleyball dominates Foley HS in program sweep

LOADING UP… Freshman Lila Jane Cook begins her approach to attack the ball. “[Volleyball] has provided a second family for me,” Cook said. “I have been playing since I was little, and it’s given me the sweetest friends and memories because of it”. (Madden Lewis) 
DIGGIN’ IT… Sophomore Lucy McIntosh digs the ball to keep the play alive. McIntosh followed the play and covered the bases to help her teammates. (Madden Lewis) 
FOCUS… Sophomore Avery Wren stares down at the net as she prepares to serve-receive. Wren said her team has bonded and prepared for the new season. “We bonded through the Bodie Invitational. We spent three days in Hoover and had some great moments to reminisce over and we learned a lot about each other as a team”. (Madden Lewis)

TOSS UP… Sophomore Matti Hamlin serves to Foley to start off the play. Hamlin immediately ran to play strong defense and covered the backrow. (Madden Lewis)
ALL TOGETHER NOW… The players prepare to make an offensive play. Senior Brooklyn Wild took a swing from the outside to end the play with a kill. (Madden Lewis) 
STRIKING SERVE… Junior Paige Benson serves to the Foley Lions. Benson’s serve went on to be an ace, giving the Lady Pirates an upper hand. (Madden Lewis) 
STACKED… Juniors Paige Benson and Addy Busby with senior Addison Breazeale line up in defense to serve-receive. Breazeale received the serve and senior Gabi Berlage ended the play with a middle swing. (Madden Lewis) 
BLOCK PARTY… Junior Kenly Nelson and sophomore Maddie Miller defend the net, preventing the Lions from making a play. The volley ended with a tip from Nelson, advancing the game forward. (Madden Lewis) 
ZONE IN… Senior Gabi Berlage serves to the Lions. Berlage aced the Lions, advancing the score to the final points. (Madden Lewis) 
GAME OVER… The Fairhope Lady Pirates shake hands, bidding the Lions farewell. The Lady Pirates dominated Foley High School 3-0, resulting in a full program sweep for Fairhope. (Madden Lewis)
