Boy Scout Troop 47 participates in 38th Annual Coastal Cleanup

Dream team… Adult leader Bobby Lamberth, Ilyana Zirlott, and Megan Hatfield act as upstanding citizens. While they scoured the land for trash and rubbish. (Jaden Zirlott)
Green cleaners… The team of four scouts help each other out with team work. The group of four scouts used their eyes and gloved fists to clean the grassy green area of Pelican Point. (Jaden Zirlott) 
Clean shores…Scout Ava Elrod works to keep the edge/reeds free of trash. The troop emptied the rubbish of that section.“Troop 47 is always proud to be a part of Coastal Cleanup,” said Erika Zirlott, scout leader. (Jaden Zirlott) 
Stay stable…Scouts Ilyana Zirlott and Ally Freaze search the rocks for fishing trash and crab friends. These two scouts cleaned the shore. “I really enjoyed helping clean the environment although it was sad seeing all those dead birds,” Ilyana Zirlott said. (Jaden Zirlott) 
Bring your wellies… Scouts prepare to get wet as they scrape the beach clean of garbage. After they cleaned, the scouts’ legs dripped with water. (Jaden Zirlott) 
Street sweepers… Adult leaders keep the kids safe as they direct the scouts during the sweep of the road edges. Heavy traffic sped by which slowed the cleaning operation. (Jaden Zirlott) 
Ditch divers… Scouts young and old get dirty as they clean all the ditches. No scrap of trash was left. (Jaden Zirlott) 
Community support… Members of the community help out. Elderly citizens showed up to lend a hand. (Jaden Zirlott) 
Job well done… Scouts from Troop 47 celebrate with snacks and take a group picture. They left feeling good in their hearts knowing that they had done a good deed. (Jaden Zirlott)
