FAIRHOPE, Ala- On Oct. 4, Fairhope High School cheerleaders hosted Little Pirates Cheer camp in the Fairhope High School gymnasium and cafeteria.
The Little Pirates prepared chants to cheer at the game against Mary. G. Montgomery on Friday, Oct. 10. They will be accompanying the varsity cheerleaders on the sideline during the game.

“It’s fun to see the little girls cheering knowing that was us years ago. I love to see them learn the cheers and do it at the game,” said Harper Cummins, varsity cheerleader.
The little cheerleaders learned fundamentals along with the cheers “Who Rocks the House,” “Pirate House,” and “Fight Song.” The cheerleaders taught them stunts, jumps, and various stretches for flexibility.
“I hope for the clinic to teach girls what cheer is all about and prepare them to be cheerleaders when they grow up,” said Caroline Miller, varsity cheerleader.

The clinic encourages elementary girls to join Fairhope Cheer in hopes to grow the high school program. The clinic hosted girls K-6, and introduced Fairhope Cheer to them.
To prepare for the camp the cheerleaders did various things. They set up the gym, put out various equipment, and they got excited. “Our favorite part of the clinic was meeting all the girls and seeing their pure joy throughout the clinic,” said Aynsleigh Snow, varsity cheerleader.
The little Pirates got an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of cheerleading with their friends. They also met and worked with current Fairhope cheerleaders, which gave the little Pirates role models in the cheer world to look up to as they get older.
The varsity Pirates and the little Pirates will cheer this Friday night at 7 P.M. versus Mary. G. Montgomery at W.C Majors Field.
