FAIRHOPE, Ala.– Thursday, May 8, 4 to 8 p.m., Downtown Fairhope welcomed participants to the 12th annual shopping and social event, Girls Night Out. Celebrating and promoting local stores, the event offered deals, raffles, goodie bags, snacks, drinks, and opportunities to meet and socialize with new people. The theme was The Masters, a Night Like no Other.
Participants started at the Fairhope Welcome Center where they could purchase a $40 ticket to receive a swag bag. These swag bags included a shirt and coupon book. Stores participating in the event included a custom coupon with different deals including discounts on clothing, free drinks and much more. Participants who did not purchase a swag bag could attend for free.
Haley Raines, Private Gallery employee, describes Girls Night Out as a unique and fun way to meet new people, encouraging more people to participate
“I would encourage more people to come, it creates a sense of community and a chance to engage and meet new people,” Raines said.

Private Gallery Shoes and Accessories store welcomes customers with a cheerful balloon arch, kicking the night off to a colorful start. “At the end of the day, girls just want to have fun,” Raines said.
Getting a chance to support local businesses not only helps the community thrive but also helps the consumer explore new shops they may not regularly choose.
Girls Night Out strengthens the bond between the community and local businesses.
“Girls Night Out is a win-win for downtown shops and local shoppers, it transforms a regular evening into a lively celebration,” said Jessie Stevens, manager at Private Gallery Shoes and Accessory store.
Having local events like these is a great way to create memorable experiences all while promoting the community.
“This event draws women into stores they might not usually visit, the fun atmosphere makes the consumer feel special,” Stevens said.
Bringing the community together to support local businesses is a way to spend time with friends and family and perhaps purchase new items at a new and less expensive price, all while boosting store traffic and sales. The City of Fairhope website and Facebook page is updated regularly with community events.
