Fairhope Ala.– On March 8, it was a sunny day at Fairhope High School as the senior class buzzed with excitement. The Student Government Association had gone all out, setting up an epic field day for the soon-to-be graduates.

After missing out on their 8th-grade field day due to COVID-19, the senior class was determined to make up for lost time. SGA took the initiative to plan an unforgettable field day experience for their fellow seniors.

“Anna Bowler Conyers, who is the SGA president, wanted to do this for her classmates. So she took off running and I never had to do anything but say, ‘Okay.’ She put her everything into creating this for the seniors,” said Treavie Ainsworth, senior counselor.

This field day showed a vibrant display of team spirit. Each Senior was assigned to a team, and they wore all different colors to represent their teams. The atmosphere was electric as the teams competed in various events, showcasing their skills and determination.

“I’m sad that this is our last time for field day, but I want to go out as a champion. It will be an experience I won’t forget,” said Till Rogers, senior.

In an ultimate test of strength in tug of war, the white team emerged victorious, pulling their way to the top. It was a thrilling moment for the white team and a testament to their teamwork and perseverance.

“Middle school field day was so much fun and always a highlight for us, so we wanted to bring it back and have some fun; it’s been a great way to bond with each other,” Conyers said.

The cheers and applause echoed across the field as they celebrated their hard-earned win. It was an unforgettable highlight of the day, a moment of triumph that will be remembered for years to come.

As the time ran out on the field, and the seniors bid farewell to their high school days, they carried with them memories of a field day that made up for lost time. Unity, celebration and pure joy exuded from the atmosphere and aura of the participants.
