Fairhope High School’s Operation Jubilee club held its back to school bash Thursday, September 19, in the outdoor pavilion, to forge relationships with students in the Jubilee room and other students.

The event allowed Jubilee students enjoyment through various games, even throwing water balloons. Junior, Gregory Luce is one of the club’s event committee members.

“Operation Jubilee is important to the kids because it gives them a chance to branch out and have fun without sitting in a classroom all day. It just gives them a good time,” Luce said.

The kids enjoyed blowing and popping bubbles, as well as getting creative and coloring with sidewalk chalk.

Students in the club, which is also an elective class, work with their peers who are a part of the Jubilee class. It is the mission of the school to ensure that Jubilee students have the opportunity to experience what other students do.

Ready, Set, Blow… Operation Jubilee student Braden blows bubbles Thursday, September 19th at the back-to-school bash. Brayden and his friends enjoyed participating in activities.

“I think this club is important for the school because it gives the Operation Jubilee kids experiences that they usually wouldn’t get without the opportunities we give them,” sophomore Abbie Butler said.

Sophomore Jocelyn Pratt said Operation Jubilee club ‘creates a positive environment in our community.

“It’s filled with a bunch of amazing and joyful people,” Pratt said. “No matter what, everyone just brings each other up, and we always have fun and are involved with the community.”

The Operation Jubilee students laughed and played, being around their peers. Both Jubilee students and Operation Jubilee students shared smiles and were excited to see friends that they don’t get to see on a daily basis.

Operation Jubilee plans to host a Trunk or Treat Fall Fest Wednesday, October 30, from 3:30- 5 p.m. School clubs and sports are urged to participate.
