FAIRHOPE, Ala.—The 20th annual Fairhope Rotary Steak Cookoff will be held on Saturday, May 10, in downtown Fairhope. The event will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. General admission tickets can be purchased on the Fairhope Rotary’s website for $75. Different groups of contestants will cook steak while attendees walk around to taste each steak before voting for their favorite.
All proceeds of the event will go back into the Fairhope community. In previous years, the steak cookoff provided over $700 thousand each year for needs for the city. The Fairhope Rotary Club hosts the event. The organization engages in various projects to give back to the community.
“It means so much because we can do so much for the community. It is phenomenal the amount of things that we are able to do and having the community be part of that by eating steak,” said Chad Clark, Fairhope Rotary Club president.
Steak will be cooked by more than 40 competing teams. Over 1,500 steaks will be served overall. The event is sponsored by Piggly Wiggly who provided the USDA Choice Certified Angus Beef that will be used for the cook off. Drinks will be provided and live music will be played by Avinu.
The night will be full of good food and live entertainment that you don’t want to miss. Make sure to purchase tickets beforehand because there will not be tickets sold upon entry.
