FAIRHOPE, Ala.– Fairhope High School junior and senior girls are set to play the 2025-2026 school year powderpuff football game at Fairhope Recreation Centers’ WC Majors Field, 6 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2025.
Powderpuff football has been a tradition both across the nation and Fairhope High School for many years while upholstering school spirit throughout communities. Attending encourages the growth of school spirit and additionally allows the proceeds to go to a good cause.
“It’s [powderpuff] is primarily student-run, however the attendance of powderpuff football positively affects ticket sales to fund things such as prom decorations. It also builds team bonding, encouraging people to do great,”said Elizabeth Orfanello, powderpuff sponsor. “The money that comes with powderpuff goes into a pot that pays for juniors and seniors expenses… it pays for the senior picnic, it pays for the Sadie Hawkins dance, and it pays for prom.”
Proceeds from the powderpuff tickets help the senior class by increasing funding for future senior class activities planned by the Student Government Association (SGA).
