FAIRHOPE, Ala.—On Nov. 19 Seniors from Fairhope High School gathered in the front lawn of the school to take the traditional 26 photo and the 13-year-photo.
These photos will be showcased in the 2026 Bay Breeze 100th edition themed ¨All For One.¨
The 26 year photo features students in the senior class arranged in the shape of a 26 because 2026 is their graduation year.
According to the 1989 edition of “The Bay Breeze,” the senior class started a tradition in 1986 of taking a photo on the front lawn of the school. In 1989, the class changed to a vertical photo taken from a truck lift. The 1990 edition of the yearbook features the first lawn photo with students seated in the shape of the graduation year.

Yearbook adviser, Angela Garner, coordinates with her yearbook students and Cody Coleman’s engineering class for the photo.
“Senior editors decide which section of the yearbook they want to picture in, it’s a tradition. Then, I contact Coach Coleman to schedule the date. I choose a junior editor to take the photo,” Garner said.
Cody Coleman, engineering teacher and senior class sponsor, maps out the 26 along with his students Engineering IV for the senior class to sit in.
¨We map it out on a sheet of paper to scale and then go from there taking our plans that we draw on a sheet of paper and going out there and measuring out the two and the six so everybody can get inside and sit down,¨ Coleman said.
The 13-year-photo photo consists of students who started at a Fairhope feeder school and remained in the system throughout their senior year.
“I feel special to be able to be a part of the amazing school system for 13 years and that everybody in this club got to grow up together,” said Abby Wren, 13 year club member.
