If someone is looking for a variety of gourmet breakfast options, Parlor Doughnuts is just the place for them. Located in downtown Fairhope, Parlor Doughnuts offers a wide range of gourmet doughnuts for everyone to choose from.
Last Friday, I was craving a sweet treat after a long week of school. Parlor Doughnuts recently opened its location in Fairhope, so this was my perfect opportunity to give it a try. I arrived just before 2 p.m. and was first in line, followed by around ten customers.
Walking up, it had a nice outside patio with plenty of seats for multiple families, and lots of space inside, including versatile seating areas like tables and couches. Everything was kept very clean and well-organized throughout the restaurant.
Even after being open all day, they still had all of their doughnut options to choose from. Going up to the counter to order, the menu was displayed on the wall with pictures next to each doughnut for visual help. Allie helped me at the counter and gave me an additional menu so I could get a closer look.
When ordering, I had many questions that Allie very kindly answered for me. Allie recommended their most popular doughnut flavour, the french toast. After a hard decision, I decided on the french toast doughnut, the campfire doughnut, and a small iced white chocolate blondie.

After ordering, Allie immediately handed me my doughnuts in a box, and I stepped to the side to wait for my coffee. I ended up waiting around three minutes for the coffee. Then I went and found a table to sit at. They had very quick service all around.
Digging in, the french toast doughnut was very moist, dense, filling, and had a good cinnamon and topping ratio. The Campfire doughnut was also moist and very filling, but was nothing special. It tasted like an average chocolate doughnut with a few marshmallows on top to add a campfire touch. Both doughnuts were served at room temperature, which is what I prefer. The coffee was not too sweet and paired very nicely with the sweet doughnuts.
Each doughnut was $3.95, and the small coffee was $6.20. Two people could definitely share one doughnut and be full. I ate about ⅓ of each doughnut and was full. The doughnuts are reasonably priced for the size, but the coffee was a little overpriced for how much someone is getting, so I would not purchase the coffee again. The doughnuts might seem more expensive than other doughnut places, but for the size and how filling they are, the price is well worth it.
Parlor Doughnuts also offers a variety of other items, including keto options, gluten-free doughnuts, vegan options, and even dog doughnuts, so everyone in the family can get exactly what they want. Parlor Doughnuts is a one-stop shop that has everything a family needs, all in one place. They get 5 stars, and I can’t wait to try different doughnuts and other products soon.
