Provision-downtown charm and more

Nestled on Main Street in the heart of downtown Fairhope, Provision offers a charming and inviting atmosphere where everyone can savor a good cup of coffee, discover unique gifts, or explore a wide selection of groceries. With its fresh and vibrant environment, Provision brings a fun flair to Fairhope, setting itself apart from the typical dining experiences in the area.

This Tuesday, my friends and I found ourselves especially stressed with midterms looming over us. Seeking a good place to study, we considered several options before finally deciding on Provision, a place known for its inviting atmosphere. We all needed a good caffeine kick to motivate us, and Provision was the perfect place to order some lattes to fuel us up. We walked in and seated ourselves on a comfy couch low to the ground, surrounded by all types of chairs and sleek wooden tables. The seating gave a casual but classy vibe, complimented by the warm lighting filling the room.

I started off by walking to the ordering counter and looked at the extensive amount of choices on the menu. I was greeted at the counter by three nice women that helped me decide on what to get. Hallie was the biggest help, as she instructed me to order the mocha muffin, her favorite pastry at the shop. The muffin was a medium size and was topped with a drizzle of icing and chocolate chips. It sounded quite delicious so I didn’t hesitate to order it along with my favorite drink, an iced vanilla latte.

While I waited for my order, we enjoyed the comfort of the couches and the smooth jazz that filled the air. I got up and explored the groceries which stemmed from organic on the go sweet treats to a high quality selection of wine. I heard my name called and headed back over to the pick up counter to get my coffee and my warmed muffin. One of the workers had written a sweet note that read “You deserve love and joy,” on my coffee cup, showing how positive the people and environment truly are.

I sat down to enjoy my food. The muffin was crispy on the outside and had melting chocolate chips on top. When I opened it, I found a moist and fluffy inside. The flavors of coffee and chocolate mixed together, making each bite delightful. The coffee was good and I could tell the espresso beans weren’t burnt, so it was overall a delicious fun drink.

The prices for the items weren’t the most reasonable considering what was served, but they were still affordable. A small latte cost $5, which was fair for what you received, while a mocha muffin was priced at $6.50, which seemed less reasonable given its portion size. Although the muffin was medium-sized and quite delicious, I wouldn’t order it again due to the price. The total came to $11.50 for everything, which wasn’t the most expensive option, but it still wasn’t sustainably affordable. I plan on visiting Provision again, and ordering more pastries and maybe even a meal. There is so much to choose from and I can’t wait to experiment with different foods, drinks, and maybe even get some groceries.

Overall, my friends and I enjoyed Provision. It’s fun and unique and gives a perfect environment to lounge and study in. I give Provision a 4 / 5, because the price isn’t the most reasonable; however the environment makes up for it. The atmosphere was relaxing and vibey, giving me reason to return.
