Wok By d’Bay delivers bold flavors in Fairhope

Looking for a cozy place to hang out with friends and enjoy a variety of different cuisines?  Wok by d’Bay is the restaurant. Located in downtown Fairhope, Wok by d’Bay offers a range of different cultures ranging from Chinese, Japanese sushi and Vietnamese cuisine guaranteeing anyone will find a dish.

Tuesday night, My family and I decided to go out for sushi after a long first day of midterms. We arrived around 5:40, and were greeted immediately by a host who sat us within a booth and took our drink orders. The usual chatter of a busy restaurant and distant music outside created a relaxing atmosphere.

I started with an appetizer of the crab rangoons, which were perfectly fluffy and deliciously crisp. The rangoons were served with a spicy sweet and sour sauce, which added a delectable tangy kick to the palate. My waiter consistently checked on my table, ensuring we had all we needed.

Wok by d’Bay offers a large menu, but the one item that stuck out to me was the Wok by d’Bay roll. Since I visit here often, I always know what I’m getting.

Savory Goodness… The smell of tangy eel sauce and fried sushi flows through the air, drawing customers in to order the dish. The packed interior of cream cheese, crab, and salmon manifested a comforting taste, motivating me to continue eating. (Madden Lewis)

Due to the restaurant’s bustle, my food did take around 30 minutes to arrive at my table. The waiter kindly apologized for the wait, and gave us the plates of food. When I saw my food, the familiar sight instantly made me feel comforted and excited to dig in.

My family and I enjoyed our dishes. The service was fantastic, despite the rush of the restaurant.

Considering the portion size and quality of the food, I’d consider the pricing to be fair. The appetizer of four crab rangoons cost $9.95, and my main dish of the Wok by D’bay rolls cost $19.95 for eight rolls. After eating, I was so fulfilled that I had to get a to-go box and take my food home for a midnight snack later. The portion sizes are different depending on what dish.

Overall, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Wok by d’Bay. The service was amazing, and the food was even better. The atmosphere was inviting and comforting. I rate this restaurant a 5/5, and I will continue to be a regular patron.
