FAIRHOPE, Ala.— Fairhope High Schools Pre-K students are set to present their Mardi Gras themed parade outside the 400 building on February 13 at 1:45 p.m. The preschoolers will throw to FHS Operation Jubilee students and display their homemade floats.
The parade route will walk around the loop in front of the pirate statue and make its way towards the entrance of the main building while continually throwing to the Operation Jubilee students. Officer Miller will lead the parade and the Fairhope High School band will follow behind with carnival themed music.
“For OJ students this parade is an opportunity to alter their day to day routines and have fun in ways they ordinarily do not get to, and I believe for our Pre-K students it shows that celebrating different holidays can be so special and is an opportunity to be kind and spread fun with everyone,” said Addison Walsh, Operation Jubilee President.
Fairhope High School clubs will line up to watch the parade and later throw to the preschoolers giving all students the chance to receive and throw mardi gras goods. This parade serves as a day for Operation Jubilee students to participate in Mardi Gras and gives them experiences that are not always possible. This event is also a great opportunity for many club members to receive service hours as well as participate in the holiday season fun.
Mardi Gras is a highly celebrated season and the pre-k parade is a great way for students and staff to come watch the fun as well as participate in the parade. If interested in participating in the parade students can sign up through their clubs google classroom or contact [email protected] for more information.
