FAIRHOPE, Ala.— Fairhope High School is set to hold its annual Adulting Day Friday, April 10, from 8:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. around campus for Seniors to learn valuable life and career skills.
Students will have three hours to rotate between their choice of six skills such as changing a tire, sewing basics, self defence, how to dress for success and more. Professionals around the community volunteer to instruct these courses.
“We are hoping that this helps them when they are off at college and they are on their own but the biggest thing that we want is just to peak interest. What things do they need to research, what things do they need to know before they are four and a half hours away from their parents,” said Treavie Ainsworth, counselor.
Adulting Day gives seniors the chance to take a break from their studies and learn lessons that benefit them outside of school.
“This is not about careers, we’ve been there, done that. This is about what little things we want you to know before you go off on your own,” Ainsworth said.
Students should look out for updates and the link to sign up through parent square. Any additional questions can be directed to Career Coach Gabrielle Massey at [email protected].
