Saturday, April 18, Fairhope will hold its 36th annual Earth Day Mobile Bay Festival. Taking place at Fairhope Pier Park, the festival opens at 10 A.M., but officially kicks off at 11 A.M., with Mayor Sherry Sullivan welcoming the community. Lasting until 6 P.M., this festival is a way to celebrate the beauty of the earth.

Known for its live music, this festival features Artists such as Grits-and-Greens, The Krickets and the Grayson Capps band who play throughout the day. Activities such as crafts and educational games entertain children along with organic gardening and “Blessing of the animals,” a traditional event where pets are celebrated. 

“As we celebrate our 36th year, Earth Day Mobile Bay continues to be more than a festival; it is a vital gathering point for our community to protect the fragile beauty of the Gulf Coast while building a sustainable future together,” said Gary Gover, director of Mobile Bay, Inc. 

Sticking true to Earth Day, the theme for the festival food is green and healthy. Food trucks that prioritize vegan and farm fresh vegetables will serve the community. Along with food, local vendors will sell their products such as, Eco-friendly goods, soaps, bees-wax wraps, upcycled clothing and jewelry.

Earth Day Mobile Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote a healthy environment across the Gulf Coast, partners with the Sierra Club and the City of Fairhope to put the event together for the community. 

 Come bring your friends and family to celebrate Earth Day,  while supporting local artists and food vendors. This festival is a free event and a unique way to give back to the earth and go green, promoting a healthier environment.
