Fairhope High School to hold commencement exercise for Class of 2026

Fairhope High School is set to hold commencement exercises at W.C. Majors field at 7 pm, on Monday, May 18, 2026.

International Baccalaureate students and Advanced Placement diploma recipients will be recognized during the procession. Graduates will be honored by fellow students and staff along with receiving their diplomas.

“This class is full of a bunch of leaders,” said Jon Cardwell, principal. “It is such a big night and a lot of people play a part of it.”

Teacher volunteers will assist with the preparation and cleanup of the event. Teachers on the graduation committee will pass out caps and gowns on May 14, following the Senior Breakfast. Graduation handshake photos (with Cardwell) will take place that evening from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. in the high school library.

Friends and family of graduates may enter the field following the ceremony to congratulate the class of 2026. “I like seeing the excitement after with the parents on the field and the kids taking pictures,” Cardwell said.

Family and friends are encouraged to attend the ceremony. Early arrival ensures close parking. Come show your Pirate pride for the Class of 2026.

Fairhope High School first opened its doors to Eastern Shore students in 1923.  In 1993, a new facility was built on Highway 98 where it sits on 80 acres of beautifully manicured lawn.  The modern building and attractive landscaping are a direct reflection of the community support that benefits Fairhope High School, as well as the school pride that is felt by students, faculty, staff, and administration.  It is a modern, comprehensive four-year high school with an enrollment of approximately 1,450 in grades 9-12. Our motto “Where Excellence is Expected” demonstrates the overall strong academic climate of Fairhope High School.  In 2007, we opened a state-of the-art fine arts wing on our campus that includes a 350 seat capacity black box theater, a television production studio, and multiple classrooms for band, chorus, and art courses.  Over 38 student clubs and organizations and 25 competitive athletic teams are offered on campus.
