Downtown bake sale kicks off IB student project

FAIRHOPE, Ala.- Three Fairhope High School IB students are making a difference in their community.  Alexandria Cumbie, Xinyue Pan and Emerson Chrinos-Bardales hosted a bake sale for their final IB project on Saturday, April 18, from 3-5 p.m at the Fairhope Pier.

The Seed to See bake sale will be held every Saturday through May 16. The bake sales raise money for their Creativity Activity Service [CAS] project. Money made from the bake sale will go toward Prodisee Pantry, as the IB program requires its students to serve the community.

“The end goal for this project is to get $500 or more to donate,” Pan said. “This may not seem like a significant amount, but it represents our hard work.”

Seed to See offers a variety of cookies, brownies and cupcakes all made from scratch, baked by the students.

Cumbie said she was confident that her team could reach their goal.

“We decided to work on this project together because we all enjoy baking and have been friends for a while. We work well and communicate with each other, leaving me no doubt about hitting our goal.”

Chrinos-Bardles believes that their services will help the community. “Seed to See is a good way to show our creativity and also serve the people who might not have access to home-baked goods, which can provide a sense of comfort.”
