Fairhope High School to hold Operation Jubilee field day

FAIRHOPE, Ala.- On May 1, 2026, Fairhope High School will host Operation Jubilee field day under the pavilion by the cafeteria. This day is a chance for OJ class members to have fun at an event tailored for them.

OJ members donated supplies for some of the activities. Field day includes different types of outdoor games including relay races, slip’n’slide, scavenger hunts and more. Lower intensity activities will be available for kids that do not want to participate in games.

“Working with these kids has helped me realize that we are all the same and they are just normal kids trying to have fun,” said Lillian Simpson, Operation Jubilee member.

OJ Field day is also used as a chance for OJ members in general education and special education to spend time together.

“Operation Jubilee reminds me of the importance of not judging a book by its cover,” said Jennifer Bailey, OJ club sponsor. “We all have strengths and we are all capable of adding value to the community.”

Helping with this event is not a requirement of OJ members. Only members with the highest number of hours and students from the Jubilee rooms are allowed to participate.

Any questions regarding field day can be directed to Bailey.
