FAIRHOPE, Ala. –Fairhope High School is set to host its annual adulting day on April 10, 2026. Seniors are required to attend and participate in their choices of sessions.
This is a day for seniors to learn life skills that are not necessarily education-based. It allows seniors some experience with real-world scenarios in preparation for when they are in college or in the work force.
Career coach Gabrielle Massey is hopeful the day will be beneficial to the seniors.
“Adulting day gives seniors the opportunity to learn about topics that are not traditionally taught in school like how to change a flat tire, check your oil levels, or even how to purchase a home. I love this day because it allows students to get an inside peek into what being an adult is really like,” Massey said.
Seniors will choose six topics that interest them from a list of 18 topics. From their chosen topics, they will build a schedule on their RTI scheduler in their student portal. Choices include registering to vote, self defense, home purchasing basics, interview skills, auto basics, dress for success ( girls and boys), building and maintaining good credit, budgeting, sewing basics, meal preparation, basic first aid and CPR, things to know before joining the military, time management, public service, marketing careers and proper traffic stop procedures.
Seniors, you are required to participate in this day, so do not forget to get your schedules built. The deadline to build schedules is Wednesday, April 1.
