End Of An Era

FAIRHOPE, Ala.– FHS girls soccer played their senior night versus Cottage Hill on April 8. The game ended with a score of 7-0. Not only did they bring home the victory, but they had to say goodbye to their seniors.
“It makes me sad that these seniors are leaving. I have made lifelong friends. It was great to be able to be able to win big on their night,” said junior Peyton Davis.
The girls, with teamwork, came together to not only beat Cottage Hill, but to beat them by 7 points. Aidan Hagan, Mississippi College commit, had an impressive game, scoring two goals which led the team. The offense and defense worked cohesively to stop them from crossing the midfield.
“The defense definitely stepped up this game, barely letting them get into the box. It’s all about communication and working together, and I believe we definitely did a lot better today,” said junior Claire Havard.
For the seniors, this game meant a lot more to them than just a win, it was a time to say goodbye to their last season with this team. In the past four years, this group of seniors holds an impressive 54-5-14 record. And in those years they have been Area Champions, State runner up, and Final Four.
“We have been through so much together. New coaches, playoffs and even state which made senior night so bittersweet for me,” said senior Aidan Hagan.
The team has been able to thank their seniors for all of their hard work and dedication. And with hopes they can win the area, the team prepares for their next game at home against Daphne today. They strive to continue their win streak and take the Trojans down.
