FAIRHOPE, Ala.- With three games in, the Lady Pirates basketball team has a 3-0 record after Tuesday, November 11, and the win against UMS- Wright Bulldogs, 57-33.
In addition to watching film on their opponents, another advantage the team has over others is they have a strong bond.
“I think our strength moving forward is our team chemistry. All the girls have played together for a few years now and are very connected on and off the floor,“ said Gabrielle Gilson, head coach.

In the first quarter, the Pirates came out aggressive and ready to win.
With explosive moves and 16 collective points from sophomore Liz Niehuss [7 ] and junior Campbell Anderson [9 ] , the Lady Pirates entered the locker room at the half 29-8.
The Lady Pirates excelled in getting steals on their press, promoting communication on defense and shooting outside threes. Niehuss was aggressive in the paint.

“We were super excited to play UMS especially with it being the first home game of the season. I feel like we have a good team this year that’s good enough to go far,” Niehuss said.
During the third and fourth quarters the Lady Pirates maintained the lead to secure the win. The girls play Thursday, November 13, at Gulf Shores High School. Tip off is 4 p.m. for JV and 5:30 p.m. for varsity.
