Hi, oh there…Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy wave at passers walking into Epcot’s World Showcase. Each pavilion around the world featured a Disney character whose movie relates to or is set in that country.
Remember Me…Miguel and Dante the dog from Coco smile at the entrance to the Mexico Pavilion. The festival featured over 60 Disney characters topiaries. (Sydney Melanson)Flowing Fountain…A marble water fountain lights up the dimly lit area around it, illuminating the flowers behind it. Epcot theme park holds multiple water features unique to the pavilion where they are located. (Pragya Amin)Grounded Butterflies…A collage of different colored flowers make up a butterfly. Epcot hosted a show during the festival called Butterfly Landing filled with real butterflies. (Audrey Parsons)Culinary Creation…Avocado toast decorated with flowers, tomatoes and watermelon radish embellishes the Brunchcot booth. The Flower festival offered a wide variety of different foods along with what Epcot’s World Showcase has to offer. “The Captain’s Board from the yacht area was one of my favorite things that I had while I was there,” said Colin Richardson, member of the WFHS broadcast team. (Pragya Amin)Ethereal Epcot… The Epcot Ball towers over World Creations Lake that is connected by multiple water ways. The Epcot Ball is the largest freestanding sphere in the world. (Audrey Parsons)Christmas tree?…A large tree covered in colorful flowers sits in the middle of the walk way for admirers. The tree stays up all year round and is changed based on the seasons, a part of Epcot’s style is to change with seasons and culture. (Audrey Parsons)Hanging Features…Pots filled with colorful flowers hang on lamp posts. The Flower Festival represents Disney’s storytelling aspect along with different cultures and in hopes of a stronger development in the appreciation for nature. “I loved how colorful and bright it made the whole park,” said FHS journalist, Sydney Melanson.
