winner being announced at the annual SSA fall conference. Tyler will be running against eight other superintendents.

“When we come out of this thing as winners—I don’t like to say if, you know, in coaching,” Tyler said. “When we win this, it’s Baldwin County as a whole.”

Tyler’s plans are to continue his career helping his community and colleagues in his “continued fight to protect the integrity of education and what we teach our students.”

“I serve in a district with 14 other men and women who are as deserving, if not more so, than me,” Tyler said. “Things like this that come your way are never expected, but it is very much appreciated.”

Throughout his career, Tyler put an emphasis on inspiring a good, educational environment in the schoolhouse community. His years of service to the betterment of the county gave him multiple honors, but he continues to push for student success.

“Under Mr. Tyler’s guidance,” said Brook Jordan, the Baldwin County communication and human resources specialist, “Baldwin County schools have thrived, showcasing improved student outcomes, innovative programs and a nurturing learning environment.”

Tyler has recently been inducted into the Murphy High School Hall of Fame, which strives to accredit those who contribute to the community, both in-state and out.

“Be thankful everyday for what you have and never settle for second best when you have the ability to reach further,” Tyler said.
