I took these wide shots of the historic Wells building, which qualifies as architectural photography because it captures the structural scale, the Byzantine-style dome, and the rhythmic symmetry of the masonry. I chose to take a detail shot of the Solomonic (spiraled) columns on the portico to emphasize the intricate craftsmanship and stone texture that defines the building’s character. Finally, my creative shot shows a low-angle view of the rose window, which uses a dramatic “worm’s-eye” perspective to distort the sense of height and transform the brick facade into a towering, monumental abstract.
